We are embarking on a new strategic vision for the business which is underpinned by our engagement proposition. It is against this background we wish to recruit a Head of Strategy.

Head of Strategy

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who has significant experience, both client and agency side, of developing strategic, innovative and creative solutions to communication challenges and who can act as a powerful advocate for the concept of engagement. Reporting to the Director of Operations, The Head of Strategy will be an ‘enabler’ within the business, playing a pivotal role in helping the agency to achieve its business objectives and growth targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business as well as managing, retaining and developing existing accounts through innovative thinking. A new role within CTN, the Head of Strategy will grow both the profitability and reputation of the agency while providing a focused strategic vision on business growth which aligns with our ethos and new ambition for the brand.

Key Responsibilities

• To lead CTN’s engagement offer, devising creative, leading edge solutions to enable corporate clients to connect with their internal and external audiences

• To be the leader on integrated thinking across our accounts, leading business growth and inspiring our team of events, film & digital specialists

• To work with clients to identify their strategic objectives, devising and evolving long term communication strategies to achieve results

• To become a leading contributor to engagement thinking and expert in the field, publishing articles and appearing on the conference circuit as the leading proponent of the benefits of engagement

• To continually seek to develop own knowledge and experience, keeping abreast of new thinking to ensure CTN’s position of market leader

• To drive CTN’s growth activities, leveraging internal and external contacts to attract clients to the Agency

• To lead the strategic direction and agency response for each pitch

• To work with the FD and Director of Operations of the Agency to apply realistic pricing criteria to ensure that quotations for work are cost effective and profitable

• To analyse situations, formulate and present solutions, both orally and in writing in order to influence decision makers

Person Specification:

CTN is looking to optimise its track record and experience in communications to develop its engagement offering. The Head of Strategy will lead this initiative and will need;

• Proven expertise in the planning, execution and leadership of successful and targeted communication strategies & campaigns

• Gravitas, be sharp thinking and big picture savvy - a real strategic lead

• Innovative thinking, always looking to challenge the work produced to ensure it is of exceptional quality

• Extensive and senior strategic experience in leading and managing major client accounts within a top creative, integrated or digital agency

• Proven conversion rate of winning new business opportunities

• Strong leadership skills, ability to inspire and get the very best out of their team members

• In-depth communications strategy experience but also wider film, events, digital & social experience

• Creative instinct and ability to think laterally about new business planning; focusing on our USP and differential in the market

• Collaborative and adaptive to working with all disciplines within the agency

• Have the personal drive, enthusiasm and flexibility to carry out the ambassadorial aspect of the role, speaking to boards, addressing conferences and leading proposals both in the UK and internationally
